Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshop
If you work with youth ages 12-18 you are invited to a free public workshop led by North Texas Behavioral Health. On Saturday, February 22 from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (in Room 40 at Arapaho UMC) come learn practical tools and knowledge to create a positive impact in the lives of young people. This workshop offers essential training to help young people experiencing mental health challenges or crises.
What is Youth Mental Health First Aid? This nationally recognized program, developed by the National Council for Mental Well-Being, provides adults who regularly interact with youth (ages 12-18) the skills to identify common mental health challenges in adolescents, understand typical adolescent development and apply a 5-step action plan to support youth in crisis or non-crisis situations.
Please note that the topics discussed will include anxiety, depression, substance use, psychosis, ADHD, eating disorders, and more.
This workshop offers practical tools and knowledge to create a positive impact in the lives of young people. Registration is encouraged as spots are limited.
